God and the Spider

During World War II, a US marine was separated from his unit on a Pacific island. The fighting had been intense, and in the smoke and
the crossfire he had lost touch with his comrades.

Alone in the jungle, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his
direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.

As he waited, he prayed, "Lord, if it be your will, please protect me. Whatever your will though, I love you and trust you. Amen."

After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw
close. He thought, "Well, I guess the Lord isn't going to help me out of this one." Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.

"Hah, he thought. "What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web. God does have a sense of humor."

As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand. To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.

"Lord, forgive me," prayed the young man. "I had forgotten that in you a spider's web is stronger than a brick wall."

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to
forget what God can work in our lives, sometimes in the most
surprising ways. And remember with God, a mere spider's web becomes a brick wall of protection.

சென்னைப் பல்கலைக் கழக மண்டபத்தில் புகழ் பெற்ற பாடகர் அனூப் ஜலோட்டாவின் கஜல் இசை நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தது.

காதலியின் அணைப்பில் இருப்பது போல் ரசிகர்கள் கஜலும் இசையும் தந்த போதையில் மயங்கிக் கிடந்தனர்.

நேரம் நள்ளிரவைத் தாண்டிவிட்டதால் வீட்டுக்குப் போவதற்காக நான்கு பெண்கள் எழுந்து வாசலை நோக்கி நடந்தார்கள்.

அப்போது அனூப் ஒரு கஜல் கண்ணியின் முதல் அடியைப் பாடிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

திறந்தே இருந்தன

எழுந்து சென்ற பெண்கள் "இறந்த பிறகும் ஏன் கண்கள் திறந்தே இருக்கின்றன?" என்பதை அறியும் ஆவலில் வாசலருகே நின்று விட்டனர்.

ஆவலைத் தூண்டிய அந்த அடி பெண்கள் நடப்பதற்காக எடுத்து வைத்த அடியை நிறுத்திவிட்டது.

அனூப் வேண்டுமென்றே முதல் அடியை மீண்டும் பாடினார்."என்ன சொல்லப் போகிறார்?" என்ற ஆர்வத்தில் பெண்கள் அங்கேயே நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தனர்.

அனூப் அதே அடியைத் திரும்பப் பாடினார். பாடுவதை நிறுத்திவிட்டு அந்தப் பெண்களைப் பார்த்து, "நீங்கள் வந்து உட்கார்ந்தால்தான் அடுத்த அடியைப் பாடுவேன்" என்றார்.

அந்தப் பெண்கள் வீட்டுக்குப் போகும் எண்ணத்தைத் தியாகம் செய்துவிட்டுச் சிரித்துக் கொண்டே வந்து அமர்ந்தனர்.

அனூப் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து புன்முறுவல் செய்தபடியே பாடத் தொடங்கினார்.

இறந்த பிறகும்
என் கண்கள்
திறந்தே இருந்தன
எல்லாம் பழக்கம் தான்
இப்போதும் உனக்காகக்
காத்திருக்கிறேன்.

ரசிகர்களின் ஆனந்த ஆரவாரத்தில் மண்டபம் அதிர்ந்தது.

Chennai Book Fair - 2008

On Saturday (Jan 12,2008) evening, me and my wife went to the 31st Chennai Book Fair which is organized by the Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI).

There are more than 500 book stalls of various publishers under a single roof. It covered mostly all the varieties of book . Computer games, kids rhyme CDs, Tamil Software stalls are also there. Good buffet for the book worms and a good feast for the people who loves reading. Need a whole day to visit all the stalls. Committee members made superb arrangements. Book stalls are arranged in row wise. Book stall name lists are displayed in the beginning of each row. It makes the visitor to go to their favourite publications directly. Enough space to visit all the stalls. Parking and Canteen facilities are good.

We begun to browse the stall around 5.30pm. We covered less than 200 stalls. We bought 8 books, among them five are Tabu Shankar's book. We started from there @ 9.15pm.

If you want to spend your time in a good manner, please visit the book fair. The book fair would be on till January 17 at St. George’s School between 2 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. on working days and 11 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. on holidays.

No Operator !! No Elevator !!!

I and my wife went for pongal shopping in T.Nagar on Jan 05, 2008. On seeing Saravana Selvarathinam Textiles (which is opposite to Renganathan street), we had a thought to glance the saree collections. We roamed in the ground floor for few minutes and planned to visit 5th floor on the same building. Nearly 30 - 40 ppls were bunched together in front of the elevator. A boy was inside the elevator to operate the lift. We waited for the second trip.

After 10 minutes, the elevator reached the ground floor with full packed. But this time, the boy who operated the lift was missing. We, the next set of peoples including few small babies entered into the elevator. Now the elevator had Houseful Status. For a minute, no one pressed the buttons inside the elevator to reach their floor. Now the lift was moving to the 1st floor(hope some one pressed some buttons).When the lift was stopped in 1st floor, no body checked in and no body checked out. It went to the 2nd floor. Now the display inside the lift was completely off. No one inside the lift had the seriousness about the malfunctioning of the elevator.

Most of the ppl inside the elevator were unaware how to operate the elevator.They were joking about the elevator's performance. I got scared and rushed to the door side of the elevator and pressed the alarm button and Phone button. Nothing seems to work. Since the elevator's door was made of fiber we waved to the staff members to inform the elevator malfunctioning. They asked us to wait for few seconds through hand signal. They had not much seriousness when compared with the ppl inside the elevator. At last, they asked us to open the door manually. Me and a guy opened the door manually and we set release.

We had this bad experience very first time in Chennai. Then we took the staircase to reach the ground floor.

One great thing in this situation was, while we waited for the elevator me and my wife got the same thought that "we are going to be locked inside this elevator". But we didn't tell each other. Once we set release, we shared this :-)

Please avoid the elevator in these types of shopping malls, if there is no operator

How to Blog in Tamil ?

Few weeks back, i got a chance to read some tamil blogs.
Most of the Tamil blogs are really superb.
I know that they definitely spend more time in composing all their blogs.
Atleast in some places i need to blog my postings in tamil
So i checkout how to blog in tamil in easy way ?

Here are the easy ways to blog your postings in Tamil

1 : Go to this link Unicode Writer http://www.jaffnalibrary.com/tools/Unicode.htm
2 : Save the Page in .mht format in your local machine
3 : Open the page from your local machine (Double Click the saved Page)
4 : There are two Text Areas in this page
a) Top Text Area - Area to Type the English characters
b) Bottom Text Area - Area which shows the Tamil Characters
5 : When the page gets loaded initially, the Top Text Area is Blank and Bottom Text Area Contains some Tamil words.
6 : Between this two Text Areas, there is a small seperator which contains Font Names (thaminglish,Bamini,amudham,Tam) with option button
7 : You need to choose any of the Font Name.For easy blogging, i choose the font "thaminglish" (Tamil words in English)
8 : After choosing a Font Name, you begin to type in the Top Text Area
9 : Whatever the word you typed (in English) in the Top Text Area, Tamil characters will begin to display in the Bottom Text Area according to the Font you have selected
10: For each font, keyboard Layouts are different (you need to download the Keyboard layout from net)
11: Once you composed all your messages, just click the "Copy" button
12: Some machines will display an alert message box "Do you want to allow this webpage to access your clipboard ?", since it uses some activex which access the system.
13: Choose the button "Allow access" in that alert box
14: Paste the copied things in the Blog Composing area
[Store the File locally]
The following steps are for the people those who want to store copied tamil unicodes in notepad file.
15: Create a new notepad file
16: Paste the copied contents. After pasting the things, all the characters not in the user readable form
17: Save the file
a) File Name :
b) Save as Type : "All Files"
c) Encoding : Unicode

சில படித்தவர்களும், அரசியல்வாதிகளும் சினிமா நடிகர்களுக்கு ரசிகர் மன்றம் அமைப்பது ஒரு சமுதாய குற்றம் என்ற பிரம்மையை ஏற்படுத்த தொடங்கியிள்ளார்கள். ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட கட்சிக்கு உறுப்பினராய் இருந்து அழிவதை விட ஒரு நடிகனுக்கு ரசிகனாய் இருப்பது குற்றமில்லை. இந்த விசயத்தில் ரஜினிகாந்த்தை பொறுத்தவரை தன் ரசிகர்களை வன்முறைக்காகவும், தனக்கு சாதகமாவும் பயன்படுத்துவதில்லை. அன்றிலிருந்து, இன்றுவரை ரசிகர்களுக்கு அவர் சொல்லித் தந்தது தனக்கு ரசிகனாய் இருப்பவன் முதலில் தன் குடும்பத்திற்கு நல்ல மகனாய் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்றுதான். சிறிய வயதிலேயே அரசியல் எனும் சூதாட்டத்தால் படிப்பையும் இழந்து, நல்லதோர் வாழ்க்கையும் இழந்து தவிப்பவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை தமிழகத்தில் கணக்கிலடங்காதது. இன்றைய ரஜினி ரசிகர்களை பொறுத்தவரை நன்றாக சிந்திக்கும் பருவத்தை அடைந்தவர்கள். குடும்பத்தை காப்பாற்றுமளவிற்கு தங்கள் பொருளாதாரத்தை வளர்த்துக் கொண்டவர்கள். இரண்டு வருடத்திற்கு ஒரு முறை ரஜினியின் படங்கள் வருகிறது. அந்த நாட்களில் அவரின் நடிப்பைக் கண்டு எல்லோரும் ரசித்து மகிழ்கிறார்கள். மனதை மகிழவைக்கும் கலைஞனை வாழ்த்துவதும், ரசிப்பதும் நம் இரத்தத்தில் கலந்த ஒன்று. படம் பார்த்தோம், ரசித்தோம், குடும்பத்தை கவனித்தோம், தங்களால் இயன்ற அளவிற்கு சமுதாயப் பணிகளை செய்தோம் என்றிருந்த ரசிகர்களை வன்முறை பாதைக்கு இழுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர் இன்றைய அரசியல்வாதிகள். தொண்டை கிழிய மேடைக்கு மேடை பொய் தவிர வேறு எதும் பேச தெரியாத அரசியல்வாதிகளுக்கு மக்களின் வரிப்பணத்தில் நோட்டிஸ் அடித்தும், கட் அவுட் வைத்தும் அலங்கரிக்கும் அவலத்தைவிட, தங்களின் சொந்த வருமானத்தில் சுயநலமின்றி ரஜினிக்காக நோட்டிஸ் அடிப்பது எந்த விதத்தில் குற்றமாகும்? தவறான பாதைக்கு இளைஞர்களை இழுத்து செல்லும் அரசியல்வாதிகளுக்கு மத்தியில் மதம், இனம் பார்க்காமல் தியானம் செய்யுங்கள் கோபத்தை அடக்கி ஆளலாம் என அறிவுரை சொல்லும் ரஜினிகாந்தின் பின் செல்வது எப்படி தவறாக முடியும்? உயிர் நீத்த தொண்டர்களின் சமாதிகளில் ஈரம் உலரும் முன்னே கொள்கைகளை மாற்றிக்கொள்ளும் அரசியல்வாதிகளுக்கு முன்னர், தன் கொள்கை இறந்தாலும் பரவாயில்லை தன் ரசிகர்கள் காக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என பாதுகாப்பு கருதி அதிமுகவிற்கும் அதன் கூட்டணிக்கும் ஆதரவாய் தன் ரசிகர்களை தேர்தலில் செயல்படுத்திய ரஜினிகாந்த்தின் நேர்மைக்காக அவருக்கு ரசிகராய் இருப்பவர்கள் பெருமைப்பட வேண்டும். காவிரிக்காக அமைதியான முறையில் ரஜினிகாந்த் உண்ணாவிரதம் இருந்த போது தர்மம் காக்கப்பட்டது, பாபா படத்திற்காக பாமகவின் வன்முறையை சட்டத்தின் வழியே சந்திப்பேன் என கூறியபோது சட்டம் காக்கப்பட்டது, முடிவாய் ரசிகர்கள் பாமவினரால் தாக்கப்பட்ட நேரத்தில் ஜனநாய முறையில் தேர்தலில் எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவிக்க சொன்னபோது ஜனநாயகம் காக்கப்பட்டது. ரஜினிகாந்த்தின் நடிப்பை மற்றும் ரசித்து யாரும் ரசிகராகவில்லை அவரின் நேர்மையான மனதை புரிந்தும்தான் ரசிகர்களாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். விடிகின்ற ஒவ்வொறு பொழுதிலும் எங்கேயாவது ஒரு ரசிகன் தன் சமுதாயப்பணிகளை செய்துக்கொண்டுத்தான் இருக்கிறான். ஒரு மூன்று வயது சிறுமிக்கு தக்க சமயத்தில் இரத்தம் கொடுத்து உயிரை காப்பாற்றி வந்த செய்தியை ரஜினிகாந்த் அறிந்தால், கண்டிப்பாய் ஈன்ற பொழுதிற் பெரிதுவக்கும் தன் மகனை சான்றோன் என கேட்ட தாயின் மகிழ்வை ரஜினிகாந்த அடைவார். எல்லா ரசிகர்களும் தன் குடும்பத்தையும் காத்து, இந்த சமுதாயத்துக்கு தன்னாலான உதவிகளை செய்யவேண்டும் என்கின்ற எண்ணத்தை தன் ரசிகர்களுக்கு தந்த இந்த நல் மனிதனுக்காக நம் வாழ் நாள் முழுதும் விளப்பரம் செய்வதும், பேனர் கட்டுவதும் தவறில்லை. இருள் சூழும் இடமெல்லாம் ரஜினி ரசிகர்கள் ஒரு சிறிய மெழுகுவர்த்தியாய் சமுதாய பணிகள் மூலம் வெளிச்சத்தை கொண்டுவருவார்கள் என்பதில் ஐய்யமில்லை. ரஜினிகாந்த் சொல்லித் தந்த அகிம்சை எனும் மந்திரத்தை என்றும் கடைபிடித்து, இந்த சமுதாயத்தில் விழிப்புணர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்துவதே ஒவ்வொரு ரசிகர்களின் லட்சியமாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.

First Prize !!!

Our RETAIN Project team won the first prize in the project show case event as part of the Verizon Annual Day 2006

Our entire team and the other colleagues in our floor were happy while announcing this

On Shankar's Leadership, myself, Balaji,sreeparna and Prisci went on stage and got the Shield

My heart beat raised like anything when i get over the stage.
While going to the stage, (hope) Vinay asked me about "Maruthi".
But in that tension, i couldnot turn back and find the person where he seated to answer his question.

Aug 18, 2006 one more memorable day in my life history

Really this was only by the TEAM WORK !!

Moreover, credit also extends to all the people who surrounds us in our floor

We missed 3 main guys in the stage.
1) Chandra, who is the Technical Manager and the initiator of this Showcase
2) Maruthi, more enthusiastic person, on building this showcase
3) Gokul, who is the director of this show case

No Problem, we once again make this and we will get the award with this guys on the stage

Almighty, thanks for one more Gift !!!

Project Show Case


Today (August 17, 2006), in our company we had our Project Show case as one of the event of our company Annual Day celebration

My team members and their roles on preparing this show case is as follows

Balaji - Chart preparation
Nishith - Helping Maruthi in the external works
Sreeparna - Chart preparation & Thermo-cool works
Priscilla - chocolate and feeback form distribution
Hemalatha - Chart preparation & Thermo-cool works
&
Me - Chart preparation & Thermo-cool works

For the last one week most of our team members are doing marvelous things by spending their valuable times on preparing charts and by doing thermocool works

As final touch on Thursday morning (August 17) around 5'o clock, gokul finished most of the works. He is the master of all this chart prepartion and the thermocool works

Maruthi prepared a small thermo cool show case with the help of his brother

Our Project show case time slot is scheduled between 12pm - 2pm in the cafeteria lobby
We moved to the cafeteria lobby around 10.30 am and setup everything

More people came and gave their feedbacks about our show case
All are positive and more enthusiastic

One good news is, as of Aug 17th morning, the maximum no.of feedback by a project show case is 50 + (by a team)
But our feedback reaches 200 +

Really we all felt happy and it is only by the Team spirit what we had in that session

Team work always stands ....
